Artistic life
I am very active in music, theater, and dance. I have a BA in Music from the Crane School of Music, where I studied Classical Voice. I sing with Choral Arts Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Chorale, and at Holy Trinity under the direction of Donald Meineke. I take ballet at Kip Martin's Symmetry Dance Wellness and salsa lessons at Urban Movement Arts. Check out my Theatre resume.
Most recently, I was the soprano soloist in Vivaldi's Gloria, performed with the Cantata Singers.
I strive to incorporate my love of the arts into my research and community-oriented work. For example, see my project on street theatre in the Galápagos Islands here.

Jungle NamaIn the Spring of 2022, I was fortunate to participate in a workshop performance of Jungle Nama, a new play written by Amitav Ghosh (based on the graphic verse novel) and with music by Ali Sethi. The performance was the culmination of a semester long rehearsal and research lab, where, together with Amitav, Ali, and director Brooke O'Harra, participants collaborated to bring this Bengali tale to life. The experience was especially exciting for me since one of the major themes of the work is the relationship between humans and nature - the focus of my research. To explore the ways in which art could probe deep questions about this relationship, and to do so with such people as Amitav and Ali, was an incredible treat!
