"Descartes and Animal PTSD" - I argued that research in animal mental health challenges Descartes' view of animals as machines. In particular, evidence of PTSD in elephants and chimpanzees puts pressure on his claim that animals are not capable of experiencing pain (beyond mere stimulus reaction).
